Metamodernism
It’s not the first time that I’m mentioning the Metaverse in this newsletter. This digital world that inspired famous sci-fi novels almost 30 years ago is becoming a real phenomenon led by Marc Zuckerberg. Feel free to check out his recent announcement at the Facebook Connect Keynote in October 2021 to see what I’m talking about. The word ‘’Meta’’ is literally taking over the world. As a proof, we might even end up calling the era in which we live now: Metamodernism. An era still in construction, coming after a period where everything was possible: Modernism, until everything started to really suck: Postmodernism. I found it fascinating to see how the era in which we live in is slowly being depicted and how its foundations are getting built. If you read about Metamodernism you’ll probably get a surprising understanding of why we do what we do and why we aim what we aim for the future. If you are interested in learning more about it, Anne-Laure Le Cunff’s article is a good starting point. A good way to get some perspective on the past to better understand the present and anticipate the future.
