People are often surprised, annoyed or demotivated by how life can hit them hard sometimes. This is even more painful when you take special attention to not take any risk and avoid everything that can turn bad thinking nothing will happen to you. But that’s a fallacy. Life doesn’t give a damn, it’ll hit you at some point and hit you even harder if you’re not open to this scenario. Doing everything to avoid any difficulty is the best way to weaken your defence system. Everything comes with a shit sandwich, even the perfect holidays can turn bad! Of course, the more you do, the more you increase the risk to deal with annoying events, but the more you do the more you can get in return. Your ability to do and be fulfilled is correlated to your risk tolerance. Your ability to overcome the difficulties is correlated to your consistentwherewithal to cope. Things will happen, good or bad, you have to be okay with it, choose what’s worth it, and embrace both side of the polarity.
I’m a big fan of RadicalQuestions. Questions that can deeply affect the way you operate as a human being. This one is as simple as reversing your intention. When looking for feedback, we usually ask if everything is right by default. But, what if we ask for what’s wrong instead? This is radically simple but what you get in return is more honest and relevant feedback, because you’ll have allowed your interlocutor to tell you the most critical: what’s wrong.
